Why lessons alone are not enough

Watching a lesson does not prove you can do it

Most sim racing courses end at the explanation. You understand trail braking perfectly and still cannot do it, because understanding a technique and executing it under load are different skills. The whole library is built around closing that gap.

01

Learn the technique

A short lesson on one thing — what it is, why it works, and what it should feel like from inside the car.

02

Practise it with a drill

Not more laps. A specific, measurable exercise that isolates the technique so you can tell whether it worked.

03

Submit your execution

Send the lap or the drill attempt. It takes a minute and it is the step almost nobody else offers.

04

A coach checks it

A real coach watches your driving and tells you where your execution differs from the lesson — corner by corner.

The full library

Every course, in the order you should take them

Fundamentals first — they transfer to every car and every sim. Car-specific masterclasses are worth far more once that base exists than they are as a shortcut around it.

Questions

Sim racing courses — the common questions

What is the best sim racing course for beginners?

Start with the fundamentals rather than a car-specific course. Braking, trail braking, rotation, throttle control and vision transfer to every car and every sim, so a driver who learns them properly gets faster in whatever they drive next. Car-specific masterclasses are worth far more once that base exists.

Are the courses only for iRacing?

No. The technique courses are sim-agnostic, because braking, weight transfer and racing lines behave the same way in Assetto Corsa Competizione, Le Mans Ultimate and Automobilista 2 as they do in iRacing. Car-specific masterclasses reference iRacing models most often, but the driving content applies wherever that class of car exists.

What is the difference between a course and coaching?

A course teaches the technique on your own schedule; coaching tells you what you personally are doing wrong. They solve different problems, which is why both are here — and if you want one-to-one work specifically, lap reviews are the direct route.

Can experienced sim racers benefit from structured courses?

Usually more than beginners, because experienced drivers have specific habits holding them back rather than a general lack of speed. The car-specific masterclasses and the review loop are aimed at exactly that.

Do the lessons include practical exercises?

Yes. Lessons are paired with drills — a specific, measurable thing to practise rather than another set of laps. That is the difference between watching an explanation and changing what your feet do.

Can a coach review how I perform the drills?

Yes, and it is the part that makes the rest work. You submit a lap or a drill attempt and a coach watches it and tells you where your execution differs from what the lesson taught.

Are the courses included in the membership?

Yes — every course in the library, plus the drills, the training tools and the coach review loop. Individual courses can also be bought separately on gitgudracing.com if you only want one.

How long do the courses take?

There is no schedule and no deadline. Lessons are short and self-paced, and most drivers get more out of one lesson plus a practice session than out of watching five in a row.

Every course, and someone checking your work

10 courses, 300+ lessons and 25+ drills are included in the membership — along with the coach who tells you whether you are actually doing them right.
